# The dashboard — Overview, Visibility, Competitors, Reports

> What each screen of the measurement dashboard shows, how the numbers are computed, and why a figure is sometimes a dash rather than a number.

Every number on the dashboard can be traced back to a stored AI answer. This page describes the four screens you will spend the most time on and the rules they follow.

## Overview

The Overview is the summary for one market. It carries:

* **Visibility** — the share of recorded answers naming your brand, over the selected window, next to the five most-mentioned competitors. The headline rounds to a whole percent; the Visibility page keeps a decimal.
* **The trend chart** — one point per day. It needs a few days of answers before it is drawn; until then the panel says so.
* **Rankings** — the top brands across the AI engines for your questions.
* **Top domains** — the share of AI answers citing each domain.
* **What moved this week** — the significant changes since the previous week, or "all quiet" when nothing significant moved.
* **Opportunities** — the biggest topic gaps to close.
* **Your biggest opening** — the question shape (comparison, best-of, how-to…) where the AI names you least, counted on the window and filters you selected.
* **Recent answers** — every answer your questions produced, with the engine that produced it.

**Filters** at the top select the window (a preset or a drawn date range), the engine and the theme. The hero score follows the drawn range. The week-over-week delta is withheld under a filter: it is computed on daily snapshots that blend all engines and themes, so it would not describe the same answers as the filtered score.

**Run scan** triggers a fresh sweep of every active question. The button is reserved to Admins, and one scan runs per workspace at a time.

## Visibility

The Visibility page is the same measurement, broken down.

* **Trend** — share of answers naming your brand, per day, over the last N days.
* **Segments** — per engine, per theme, per persona: who leads, and where you stand.
* **Reach per platform** — share of answers naming you on each engine; the full bar is the most-named brand on that engine.
* **Prompt evidence** — one line per question, with the engines that answered it, so any figure can be checked against the answers behind it.

Questions that name your own brand are excluded from the competitive comparison: an answer to a branded question always names you. They stay visible in the per-question breakdown.

## Competitors

* **Leaderboard** — every tracked brand ranked by the share of AI answers naming it, on one scale, with your distance to the front.
* **Where you lose** — the five topics where the gap to the leader is widest right now. A topic appears once your share and a rival's are both measured on it.
* **Suggested competitors** — brands detected in the answers but not yet tracked. Nothing is added until you confirm.
* **Per competitor** — head-to-head, breakdown by engine and by topic (biggest losses first), and the share of answers where the engines *recommended* the brand rather than merely mentioning it.

Competitors are tracked **per market**. When you add a market, you can copy the competitors of another one, but review the list: competitors differ by country.

Each competitor carries **aliases** (every way the AIs write the brand — "Arcteryx", "TNF"; each counts as a mention) and **negative terms** (phrases that contain the name but mean something else, useful when a brand name doubles as an ordinary word). Your own brand has the same two lists in **Settings → Domains & markets**.

## Reports

**Reports** builds one PDF document per market for the period you choose, and can email a weekly summary.

* The weekly email goes out every Monday to the people who switched it on in **Settings → Notifications**. It attaches up to a fixed number of documents; markets beyond that are named in the email but not attached.
* Reports and the weekly email are written in English, whatever language the dashboard is set to.
* A market with nothing collected in the period is listed with "nothing collected" rather than an empty report.

## Rules every screen follows

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="A dash means not measured; zero means measured and absent">
    "We asked and you were not named" and "we have not asked yet" are different findings. A rate is only printed once it has enough answers behind it; below that it is a dash with the base shown next to it. A measured rate that would round to 0.0% is shown as `<0.1%`.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="A failed poll is neither a poll nor a miss">
    When an engine cannot be reached for a question, Bluemoon records the failure with a reason instead of an empty answer, and the failed poll is excluded from every rate. Failures are listed per engine in **Settings → Scan history**.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Every rate says its base">
    The share of answers naming you is printed with the number of answers it divides by. Two answers cannot carry "50%", so a question below the minimum shows a dash.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Numbers are per market">
    A brand tracked in three countries is three markets, each measured on its own answers. The workspace switcher at the top of the sidebar selects the market every screen reads.
